Director of Ministry of Commerce visited CooTek

The Deputy Division Director of Ministry of Commerce of P.R.China Dr. Su visited CooTek in Shanghai, China. She took an office tour at CooTek and met with the executive team. Michael Wong, the CEO of CooTek, introduced the company and its latest innovations to the governors. Dr. Su highly appraised CooTek’s achievement in mobile area, and emphasized that China government will provide necessary support to hi-tech innovative companies, such as CooTek.

Mr. Wong introduced the company history and its IP situation. He also updated the status of the International Trade Commission (ITC) investigation with its US competitor, Nuance Communications Inc. Mr. Wong asserted that CooTek has substantial investment in IP, and built its products based on its own innovation. CooTek’s innovation was widely acknowledged by users and customers. It was the winner of the Global Mobile Innovation Award of GSMA, and the finalist of TechCrunch Disrupt. CooTek will actively and rigorously protect its IP rights.

Dr. Su commented on the upcoming trends of ITC investigations in recent years. Unlike some other small companies, CooTek chose to fight against its giant competitor. She appraised such courage and value, and encouraged CooTek to set a good example for other Chinese companies. She also briefly introduced the Anti-Trust policy in China, and how China government protects small companies if a big player intends to dominate the market by unfair competition.
